Hello! So this is my first ‘proper’ blog and I thought I would start by introducing myself and telling you a
little bit about me.
I am a mum of four gorgeous children of which one is a beautiful angel in heaven. I live in a lovely town in Hertfordshire, England. For many years I was a mobile beauty therapist and had a very successful business. I loved connecting with people on a one-to-one basis and met some real characters, some of whom have remained very good friends. I had an amazing time doing manicures, pedicures, spray tans, facials and so much more, helping people to feel good about themselves. In some cases, I would be the only person that they may have had contact with for days, who just really needed someone to talk to, which I was more than happy to do. Then things dramatically changed for me!
In 2010, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which was a massive shock to me and my family. I was always a very healthy fit person; I was the one who looked after everyone else, listened to people’s problems, and yes, leading a full busy life, one I was enjoying very much. One day, all of it stopped – just like that! Now I was the one having to rely on others. I couldn’t drive, I had to give up my business that I had worked so hard to build over the years and I couldn’t even take my own children to school. What kind of a life was I looking at?
After years of depression and feeling very sorry for myself, I was introduced to meditation and mindfulness by a very good friend, and that was the day that changed my life. I learned how to focus again and how to accept my MS, which is when I fell into writing. Yes, literally fell in to it! No one was more shocked than me when I wrote my first book. I never had the best of education and writing was certainly not something I had any interest in. I wrote another book, and another – where was all of this coming from? It was then I realised I was an author. Me, an author! Who would have ever believed it, certainly not my teachers! Now writing has become my passion and I know my true life’s purpose.
I am very much a believer that everything happens for a reason, even if we can’t see it at the time, but I truly believe that if I had not gone through what I have, then I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am now in a good place; I am driving again and loving my new life. I guess you can say Divine Guidance has played a massive part in bringing me to where I am now, which I am so truly blessed and grateful for!
Why am I sharing this with you? So you can see that no matter how many knocks and challenges we go through in life, things can turn around. Look how it has amazingly changed for me. Just have faith, trust and belief. If it can happen to me, it can happen to you!
